Lane Splitting... Be Careful!

Hi Guys,

Just a word of warning about lane splitting.

To cut a long story short, some absolute ****** decided to deliberately turn into my Dad the other day at a set of traffic lights.

My Dad was sitting between 2 cars (on his FZ1) and when the light turned green, the car on his right turned straight into him and tried to knock him off. He didn't fall off, but it's made a mess of his Yoshi stainless.

He didn't catch the car that did it (he was too shocked to give chase). It was witnessed by a couple of motorcycle riders who rushed over to see if he was ok.

I always knew car drivers didn't like the fact that we can lane split, but I never thought anyone would sink this low.

thats some weak ass **** they did to him, yeh I get the odd idiot here and there that doesnt like me going straight through when they are stuck on the way to work but this would have ended in the car driver laying in the back of an ambulance with my fist still rammed up his rectum but anyway atleast hes ok right?

As someone once told me he said to an irate motorist who didn't approve of his lane splitting.."hey, you got air conditioning, we get to lane split!" :D

Yeah, he's ok. That's the main thing I guess. Still makes my blood boil though!

Lane splitting is a game of chess, you must always be 12 moves ahead of everyone else around you - should really only be practiced by seasoned riders - newbies beware !! - Wheels down, stay upright :)

I lane split on a regular basis and don't usually have issues, had a guy yell "tosser" once out of his window and that is about it. Luck of the draw I guess.

agree with jeff... i find 4x4's on the wrong side of the road take offence when ya kick their mirrors off.. steel capped boot's are compulsory for this...
But as for lane splitting can honestly say i haven't done it, not enought traffic around me to worry about it..
